The first medical museum in Cyprus is opening on Friday in Kato Polemidia, Limassol, in the presence of the President, Demetris Christofias. The chairman of the museum, Dr. Marios Philippou presented the 160 exhibits of the museum to the press and stated that opening this museum has been his life’s goal for many decades. Among the exhibits is the first dialysis machine and electrocardiograph ever introduced to Cyprus.
Dr Philippou noted that “It is the only museum in the Greek medical field and perhaps in the Middle East”, adding that the aim and objectives are the collection of old classic medical instruments, apparatus, equipment and books, their maintenance and protection and highlighting them as the emergence of the practice of medicine in Cyprus.
